Matthew Gettinger was born in Little Rock, Arkansas on January 10, 1985. He moved to metropolitan Detroit at the age of six and lived there through high school. Matthew has lived in Atlanta since 2011, and in Cobb County since 2012.
Matthew received his Bachelor of Science degree, summa cum laude, with a double major in Business Economics and Entrepreneurial Management from the University of South Carolina in Columbia, South Carolina in 2007. While at the University of South Carolina, Matthew was a member of the Honors College. He thereafter attended the University of Florida Levin College of Law, where he received his Juris Doctor degree in 2010.
Following law school Matthew was admitted into the Florida Bar, and he was admitted to the State Bar of Georgia the following year. He is licensed to practice in all Florida State Courts and in all Georgia State and Superior Courts.
Matthew practices almost exclusively in the area of insurance defense litigation. His practice is devoted to the representation of employers, insurers, self-insured companies, and servicing agents in workers' compensation claims throughout Georgia, and he is a member of the Workers' Compensation Section of the State Bar of Georgia. He also has experience representing individuals in various civil liability claims, criminal matters and small claims.
Outside of work Matthew enjoys spending time with his family and dogs, cooking, watching baseball and football, playing basketball and golfing.
